Raipur: Lawyer husband shoots wife, held

RAIPUR: A lawyer by profession, 44-year old man was arrested for firing at his wife over a quarrel in Chhattisgarh capital on Friday evening. The woman has sustained two bulet injuries on her hand and is under treatment. Her condition is stated to be critically stable.
Talking to TOI, Raipur SSP Prashant Agrawal said that the accused Shubhankar Nandi, resident of DD Nagar in Raipur shot his wife Kakuli, 39, over an argument leaving her severely injured.
Nandi is a practicing lawyer who fled the spot after the incident and police nabbed him later, SSP said.
He added that the couple would often enter into heated argument, as quoted by family members and neighbours.
Police have seized the licensed pistol that the accused used to fire. Further details will surface with procedure of investigation.
